Why Adults Should Take Nap Time More Seriously

Once upon a time, naps were not only a part of your daily schedule — they were non-negotiable. Remember preschool? After a good snack and story time, there was no arguing when it came to the nap mat. But somewhere along the way, we traded nap time for caffeine binges, to-do lists, and burnout. I’m here to tell you that this was a colossal mistake.

Naps aren’t just a childish indulgence. In fact, they should be considered a critical component of adulthood. And no, this isn’t just an excuse for the fifth time I’ve hit the snooze button today.

Step 1: Remember When Nap Time Was Bliss

As a kid, you probably fought nap time with all the energy of a child on a sugar rush. “Why sleep when I could be playing?” you thought. Fast forward to adulthood, and now, a 20-minute nap feels like an impossible luxury. How many times have you fantasized about slipping under a blanket at 2 p.m. instead of staring blankly at a screen, willing your brain to cooperate?
